Postcode learning

The field trial will employ data mining techniques similar to those used by Tesco Clubcard systems to identify and target individual students and groups of students. They will be making use of the Experian MOSAIC software which offers descriptors of communities by postcode which would enable staff to understand more about the kinds of experience students bring with them. This will then be considered in relation to the school's current achievement and progress data to see if there are links between postcodes and learning strengths in students. Parents will be involved via a questionnaire which will ask them about their own education and strengths, which will inform the school's interpretation of the public and pupil data, and help identify useful ways of interacting with parents.
