Charles Leadbeater Charles Leadbeater came to talk to the people who attended one of The Innovation Unit's Next Practice creative workshops. Here are the headlines - but check out his whole talk on the podcast:

1. A key point is how can you give people tools so they can help themselves. (Look at e-bay which went from 122 to 122 million in 10 years.)
2. Remember that the knowledge is in the community. (Think of Wikipedia.)
3. Make students 'players' or 'participants' (not recipients) in education. (Look at SIMS.) So how can you unlock the creative potential of the ‘customers'? 'Is there a completely different co-created, collaborative, open way of doing this?'
4. Remember the 'audience has taken to the stage' - (The p word - participation).
5. And who creates the kernel (the core idea)? It's committed people create the beginning ...

1. Remember it's not 1996 - this century is a very different place ... 2. It's defined by building things that help people help each other (Google for example).
3. Decide what metrics are important. (More joy, smiling more ....)
4. The answer is not others' best practice ... it's your best process for everybody.
5. Remember 'it's a viral, peer-to-peer, pocketable world' we now live in.
6. Be ambitious! Can you make things twice as good?
