Current ProjectsRSA - Future Schools NetworkWe are currently working with the RSA to support the development of their Future Schools Network. Further information can be found on the RSA's website. Paul Hamlyn Foundation - Learning Futures ProjectThe Paul Hamlyn Foundation, in partnership with The Innovation Unit, is working on a project that aims to look at Next Practices in curricular or cross-curricular models of learning and pedagogy. More details on the project, together with publications and output from events, can be downloaded here. BECTA - Harnessing TechnologyIn April 2008, Becta launched a major research programme to support the Harnessing Technology strategy. There are three main projects, each with a different theme. The Innovation Unit is working with Kable on the Business processes for delivery strand of the research. The research programme is outlined on Becta's website. Office of the Third Sector, Cabinet Office - Innovation ExchangeThe Innovation Exchange's website can be accessed here. NCSL - School Demonstration ProjectsThe Innovation Unit is working directly to support the groups of schools involved in this programme of work. Further details of the programme of work are posted on NCSL's website. Education CharterThe Innovation Unit is working closely with a number of other organisations to develop the concept of a Charter of core values for education in the 21st century. Matthew Taylor, Chief Executive of the RSA, has recently published an article to introduce the Charter. Projects recently completedLocal Government Association - Innovation CatalystThe Innovation Catalyst was a partnership between the Local Government Association, The Innovation Unit and Young Foundation to test approaches to the generation and incubation of innovative practice in a number of councils. Further information can be found here. Four local authorities took part - Essex, Knowsley, Sheffield and Westminster. Case studies were produced for each local authority. Accelerating Girls AchievementIn September 2008, the schools and girls presented their findings to the DCSF on a project commissioned by the DCSF as part of its programme of work for the year of gender in 2008. More information and materials can be accessed here. Report on DiplomasIn May 2008 we produced a report for the Department for Children, Schools and Families on Promoting Diplomas to Key Stakeholders. The report can be downloaded here. Next Practice in Education ProgrammeThe Next Practice in Education Programme, commissioned by the Department for Children, Schools and Families was completed in April 2008.
