Next Practice Acceleration Space

The Next Practice Acceleration Space is a learning resource for practitioners who want to apply the best innovative practices. It has been developed with practitioners, supported by the Headshift social software consultancy, and is based on web 2.0 technology.

It helps to connect practitioners to the relevant knowledge and experience they wish to learn more about and has been described as "Wikipedia meets Facebook meets online dating for school leaders interested in Next Practice."

The space hosts the online 'how to' guides to all four Next Practice in Education strands - System Leadership, Resourcing Personalisation, Communities Engaged in Learning and Parents and Carers as well as other communities.

The content has been developed with and by practitioners with relevant Next Practice experience. Each asks and answers fundamental questions:

  • Who has experience in the areas that interest me and how will I contact them?
  • Where can I find examples of Next Practice and find out what is happening in my area?
  • What are the four strands of Next Practice and what do they look like?
  • Why would I want to apply Next Practice - how will it help my school with its issues and challenges?
  • How do I make it happen? How can I learn from the real life experiences of practitioners?

The Next Practice Acceleration Space is designed to enable practitioners to share ideas and questions and expand a knowledge base founded in practice and aspiration.
