Personalised Learning and Pupil Voice

The East Sussex Project

'Personalised Learning and Pupil Voice: The East Sussex Project' set out to explore what the idea of personalised learning could usefully offer schools. Eight schools were involved in the project, seven of which spent up to a term clarifying their focus, using student commentaries to shape and refine it. Each school had a linked researcher and an entitlement to eight half days of linked researcher time over four terms.

A booklet on the project has been produced giving the following information:

  • background to the project
  • getting started
  • what the schools focused on and how the student data underline the importance of personalised learning
  • about listening to and involving students
  • did the idea of personalised learning offer the participating schools anything worthwhile?
  • insights and issues.

The second phase of the project is currently under way. The focus of Phase 2 is to look at sustainability issues.

If you would like to find out more, download the booklet here (68 KB).
