Schools Minister Andrew Adonis launches resources for Primary Schools

Schools Minister Andrew Adonis launched a pack of resources for school councils at Millfields School in Hackney where he made a major speech on the role of school councils.

The aim of the launch was to build awareness of the value of school councils and their ability to widen the accessibility and effectiveness of pupil involvement in primary schools.

Pupils from Hackney primary and secondary schools sat on a panel with Lord Adonis and answered questions from other students, policy makers and educationalists about pupil participation in elections and what they have seen school councils achieve.

During his speech Schools Minister Andrew Adonis said:

"These materials are tangible evidence of what can be achieved when government and key partner organisations work closely together, it will be of enormous benefit to all our primary schools."
